Beef Goulash

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound round steak, cubed
3 medium onions, chopped
1 teaspoon paprika
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 cups hot water
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cold water
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 (8-ounce) package noodles

Methods:

1. Heat oil in a skillet. Add steak and brown well, approximately 10 minutes.
2. Stir in onions and cook until soft. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, garlic powder, pepper and sugar, blend thoroughly. Pour in hot water; cover, and simmer gently for about 1 1/2 hours.
3. Blend flour with cold water until smooth. Stir into the meat mixture, and cook until the sauce is thick. Remove from the heat and stir in cream.
4. Meanwhile, prepare noodles according to package directions; drain.
5. Serve Beef Goulash over prepared noodles.

Beef Casserole with Edam

Ingredients:

1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup butter
1 pound sirloin steak, sliced
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup sliced green bell pepper
1 large egg, hard-boiled and chopped
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1/4 cup chopped sweet pickle
1/4 cup sliced mushroom
2 tablespoons brandy
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon chili sauce
1/2 teaspoon tomato ketchup
1/2 teaspoon liquid hot pepper sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
7 ounces Edam cheese, sliced

Methods:

1. In a skillet, cook chopped onions in butter over medium heat until golden. Add thinly sliced sirloin steak, chopped tomatoes, chopped red bell pepper, and sliced green bell pepper. Cook, stirring, over medium heat, until the vegetable are soft. Add chopped hard-boiled egg, raisins, sliced black olives, chopped sweet pickles, and sliced mushrooms. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add brandy, and for dramatic effect, ignite. Shake the skillet gently until the flames go out. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring. Stir in beef broth, chili powder, chili sauce, ketchup, liquid hot pepper sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
2. Line the sides of a 9-inch baking dish with part of sliced Edam cheese.
3. Pour the beef mixture into the casserole; cover with the remaining Edam cheese. Place in a large pan of water to 1-inch deep, and cover the baking dish.
4. Bake at 325*F (160*C) for 15 minutes.

Baked Beef Ravioli with Cheese

Ingredients:

1 (9-ounce) package Buitoni Classic Beef Ravioli, prepared according to package directions, kept hot
1 (15-ounce) container Buitoni Marinara Sauce
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 tablespoon olive oil

Methods:

1. Preheat oven to 400*F (205*C). Lightly grease 8-inch-square baking dish.
2. Combine hot pasta, sauce and cheese; spoon into prepared baking dish. Combine bread crumbs and oil in small bowl; sprinkle over pasta mixture. Cover.
3. Bake for 20 minutes. Uncover; bake for an additional 5 minutes.
